Top 5 Reasons Why Investing in FCA is Wise
#1. Influence of Coaches – A poll of youth ages 13-22 asked children who would they most listen to if asked to do simple chores – parents, teachers, pastors, friends, coaches – and #1 was coaches. Two of the most powerful words are “Coach says.” FCA capitalizes on that influence and offers coaches the opportunity to make an eternal impact.
#2. Platform of Sport – Nearly 60 million youth are playing sports. It is the #1 discretionary activity. This sports affinity creates a platform for Christian influence to and through coaches and athletes.
#3. Access to Campuses – The only activity more youth are doing than sports is attending school. Over 99% of youth attend public and private schools. The Supreme Court’s Equal Access Law grants FCA the right to meet on campus. FCA is often the only opportunity for athletes and coaches to hear about Jesus at their school.
#4. Bang for the Buck – FCA has huddles on over 8,000 campuses and over 60,000 coaches and athletes attend FCA camps each summer. Yet, our staff is only 1,000 people. How can that be? We have a HUGE team of volunteers, like many of you reading this. These wonderful volunteers allow, on average, one FCA staff person to influence over 1,000 people each week! Furthermore, NONE of your gifts to FCA go to pay for mortgages or rent for buildings, utilities, vehicles, etc. Your investment goes directly to impacting lives.
#5. Expanding God’s Kingdom – FCA is an arm of the local church and we are going to where these coaches and athletes of influence are – campuses, teams, locker rooms, fields, courts, etc. and sharing with them the life-changing message of Christ’s sacrifice and love so His Kingdom will expand one heart at a time. In one area county alone, over 70 different languages are spoken in the homes of students; God has brought the mission field to us.
FCA has been recognized for its sound fiscal management by Charity Navigator, the country's premier charity evaluator. FCA received a 4-star rating for its ability to effectively manage and grow its finances. Charity Navigator has given the designation to only 12 percent of the charities it evaluates. According to the service, the rating is "exceptional" and "differentiates the Fellowship of Christian Athletes from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust."
